Is Taxing Renewable Energy The Solution?

Funny.  Governments spend billions supporting alternative energy.  Yet they also tax alternative energy projects in other ways. Giving tax credits on the one hand, then charging taxes later creates more government bureaucracy as well.

Examples For How Governments In Your Region Or Country May Tax Those Reducing The Carbon Foot Print:
• House construction which is considerably more energy efficient may likely pay the same construction permit tax as an energy wasting house with equal construction costs and size.
• Sales tax (VAT) on purchases of renewable energy technology.
• Permit fees to install renewable energy technology.

Innovation Institute in Fairfield, Solano County, California pays extensive taxes on other matters to launch energy saving inventions as well.

This interesting post explains how the Fairfield city is unfair to green technology innovators by indirectly cutting off innovator's cash flow. Guess where the Fairfield city sends their money? The Fairfield old boy network naturally.
